Tuningi Safari Lodge is an elegant understated 16 bedded game lodge on the western side of the well-known malaria-free Madikwe Game Reserve. The décor is a mix of colonial and modern African influences. The main thatched lodge includes a spacious lounge, dining room, veranda and bar all interlinked by a sweeping wooden deck with a rimflow pool, overlooking a waterhole. Tuningi's aim has been to blend the interiors with the bush through retractable doors and windows. The boma is the perfect place to enjoy dinner around the blazing fire.

There are four bush villas and two family villas, each with two bedrooms. All rooms have air conditioning, ceiling fans, fireplaces (which is lit on your return from your evening game drive in the winter) and en suite bathrooms with beautifully appointed baths. Each has a refreshing and private alfresco outside shower and your own private deck to relax and enjoy the sights and sounds of the bush.

If you wish, Tuningi Safari Lodge can be further divided into a 10 bedded lodge and a 6 bedded satellite lodge, Little Tuningi. Little Tuningi consists of one of the two bedroom family villas and a bush villa and offers unsurpassed luxury for a family with its own private boma area, dining room, lounge and private swimming pool. Rise early to be guided by both a private ranger either on foot or in an open game viewer in search of the Big 5 for which the reserve is well-kwown. Lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino and leopard are sighted frequently, including wild dog. The world-renowned BBC and National Geographic wild dog sightings of Madikwe have been well recorded. TGCSA 5 star lodge.
