Aconcagua is the highest mountain in the Americas, the Western Hemisphere, and the Southern Hemisphere, with a summit elevation of 6,961 metres. It is located in the Andes mountain range in Mendoza Province, Argentina, near the border with Chile. Aconcagua is a popular destination for mountaineers and trekkers, as it is one of the Seven Summits, the highest peaks on each continent.
