Located in Vientiane, Wat Phra Kaew is an excellent architectural and spiritual attraction. Built in 1565, the temple housed the Emerald Buddha statue which was taken during an invasion in 1779. Visitors can explore the temple featuring the original wooden doors and throne. The on-site museum features various artefacts such as religious works, arts and a variety of Buddha statues. Visitors can shop at the gift shop selling keepsake and memorabilia.
