The focal point of this working wine farm is the meticulously refurbished 19th-century Manor House with its six guest rooms, dining room, reading room and living room. Adjacent to it is Leeu Spa & Gym. Three spacious cottages are situated among the gardens, oak trees and vineyards. There are 17 contemporary classic individually styled rooms and suites filled with customised architectural detailing and texturised furnishings in a calming colour scheme. Each one features carefully curated artwork, luxurious extras and superbly equipped marble bathrooms. Many have their own terraces and fireplaces, and all enjoy idyllic vineyard and mountain views. The rooms are equipped with the latest technology and include a media hub fitted into the writing desk with complimentary Wi-Fi access, including international sockets/plugs; iPad on request; individually controlled air conditioning; high-definition flat-screen smart television; electronic safe; and Nespresso coffee machine and mini bar. Delicious, innovative cuisine is prepared by Leeu Estates’ culinary team, headed by resident executive chef Oliver Cattermole. A leisurely breakfast is inclusive and available until 11h00. Lunch and dinner menus showcasing the finest locally sourced organic and ethically farmed produce bring you vibrant world flavours. Set among the vineyards and designed by celebrated Spanish architect Tomeu Esteva, Leeu Spa is a wellness sanctuary offering massages by expert therapists and holistic treatments inspired by centuries-old Asian traditions, using hand-blended organic products. A 15-metre outdoor heated infinity pool and TechnoGym cater to the most fitness-orientated guests. In the boutique tasting venue, also designed by Tomeu Esteva, guests can taste handcrafted premium wines from Mullineux & Leeu Family Wines, an award-winning collection made by winemakers Chris and Andrea Mullineux. The beautifully landscaped property features the Bokkie Garden with its resident herd of small antelope. Pivotal to the garden is Reflective Resonance by acclaimed sculptor Angus Taylor, a powerful piece set to become an iconic Franschhoek landmark. Sculptures by leading South African artists are placed throughout the garden. There are river, mountain and vineyard nature trails for hiking, jogging or cycling, as well as the use of complimentary bicycles. Complimentary transfers to sister properties, Leeu House and Le Quartier Français in the village of Franschhoek with its award-winning restaurants, art galleries, boutiques and many other attractions, are available on request.
An average size of 42m²/452ft², these rooms are situated in The Manor House, Max and Protea House offering guests various views, from the manicured gardens to the farm dam, orchards, vineyards, dramatic mountain backdrops and the village of Franschhoek. The Leeu Collection’s founder, Analjit Singh (aka BAS), is a partner in Mullineux & Leeu Family Wines with Chris and Andrea Mullineux, the team behind these celebrated wines produced on Roundstone Farm in the Swartland appellation and at Leeu Estates in Franschhoek. By 2021, Mullineux & Leeu Family Wines had notched up over 45 five-star ratings from Platter’s South African Wine Guide since its first release in 2008, and was also named the wine guide’s Winery of the Year in 2014, 2016, 2019, 2020 and 2023 – the first winery in South Africa to achieve this accolade five times. Wine Enthusiast, the prestigious US magazine, named Andrea its 2016 Winemaker of the Year.
Leeu Collection guests are invited to take advantage of fine Franschhoek weather and the beautiful surroundings at Leeu Estates to indulge in a picnic basket filled with delicious treats. Enjoy the sweeping views of valley and mountains with a glass of fine wine in hand, and a perfect al fresco repast. Think local cheeses and charcuterie with house-made Estates preserves, fresh fruit, crackers and other seasonal treats and nibbles. All this and more will create lasting memories to take home.

Indaba – The Meeting Place at Leeu Estates is a state-of-the-art multipurpose event and meeting venue available for all in-house Leeu Collection guests. The light-filled space, with its open roof trusses, tall windows, timber floors and natural finishes, perfectly complements the collection of art and sculptures.
The well-appointed venue can accommodate up to 60 guests (cocktail) both inside and on the terrace overlooking the beautiful valley and mountain landscape for a variety of private parties, exhibitions and product launches.
Press briefings, seminars, business meetings and management think tank sessions for up to 20 guests can be accommodated in boardroom, schoolroom or U-shaped seating. Cinema seating can accommodate up to 60 guests. Indaba, which is 140m2/1 510ft2 in size and has its own lift, boasts audio and video conferencing equipment, a 203-centimetre (80-inch) television screen and high-speed wifi. Catering for Indaba is done by the The Dining Room culinary team.

The in-house dining option at Leeu Estates means resident guests never have to leave the property, if they so desire. From all-day light dining to full à la carte, every dish makes the best of seasonal produce, in keeping with the Leeu Collection ethos. There are several vegan and vegetarian options too. The breakfast menu is comprehensive but also allows guests to tailor their personal preferences for the most important meal of the day. Children have their own menu, which includes spectacular desserts to thrill the little ones.
Guests visiting Leeu Spa and Mullineux & Leeu Family Wines Studio at Leeu Estates are now able to join us for lunch or dinner at The Dining Room.
La Petite Colombe - "little dove" - offers diners the highest level of excellence, from service to exquisite multi-course lunches and dinners sprinkled with touches of whimsy and drama for a one-of-a-kind dining experience. During the day, floor to ceiling glass gives you the feeling of being in the surrounding vineyards.

Visitors looking for an informal fine dining eatery now have the perfect venue in Protégé, featuring stylish casual fare created by a team of talented young chefs headed by Andrew Willemse. The idea with Protégé is to keep it casual and comfortable, hitting all the spots with a refined, flavour-packed approach to casual fine-dining. The kitchen team works with local suppliers to keep the menu as fresh and seasonal as possible. Visitors can choose to dine al fresco or watch the chefs at work in the central show kitchen. Resident guests are invited to take their breakfast here or order in-room dining.
The flavour-packed menu is inspired by the team’s culinary expedition to India, as well as memories of travels through Spain, Japan, Mexico, Denmark and the US, as well as chef Charné Simpson’s own Cape Town family influences. Presented in a home-cooking-style with a refined edge, the experience begins from the moment you sit down, providing an array of delectably curated dishes that showcase the essence of spice (Épice) from around the world.
