Situated in the northern reaches of China's scenic Guangxi Province, the town of Longsheng, meaning dragon's backbone, is located in Longsheng County. This idyllically positioned town rests on the banks of the meandering Xunjiang River and serves as an excellent base from which to explore the picturesque surrounding landscapes. This region is world-renowned for its awe-inspiring rice terraces. Aptly named 'Longshen', the stepped slopes resemble dragon's scales trailing down from the summit of the mountain range, which is reminiscent of a dragon's spine. Visitors can look forward to driving along twisting, winding mountain roads to soak up views of the Longsheng Rice Terraces, also known as the Longji Rice Terraces, clinging to the slopes of lush rolling hills. These ancient terraces were built over 650 years ago and today tourists flock here to take in the dreamy reflective views.
