Delaire Graff Estate – the Jewel of the Cape Winelands – has expanded its culinary offering with the opening of Lorenzo’s, a new Italian restaurant named after Estate owner Laurence Graff OBE. The menu will feature classic Italian dishes, with antipasto offerings including Wood-Fired Artichokes, Burrata Caprese and Veal Carpaccio. Wood-fired pizzas will include toppings such as Beef Bresaola with Caponata, Buffalo Mozzarella and Parmesan; Fresh Truffle with Buffalo Mozzarella, Stracciatella and Parmesan; and Prawns with Chilli, Red Pepper, Garlic, Buffalo Mozzarella and Rocket. Iroko timber pergola, created to give both scale and a sense of intimacy to the new space, surrounded and interwoven with beautifully bold flora and fauna. Locally made, brown clay Klompie bricks, which are traditionally used in South African architecture, are paired with antique stone to form the backdrop for a striking pizza oven. Clad with 250 individually hand-patinaed bronze panels, it adds a theatrical centre piece to the space. Crafted to resemble a magnificent jewel, it pays homage to the expertise of the restaurant’s namesake, renowned diamantaire Laurence Graff.

Prepare for a culinary journey like no other, at HOSEKI, the extraordinary Japanese restaurant at Delaire Graff Estate. The name "HOSEKI" carries profound significance, translating from Japanese to "jewel," paying homage to Laurence Graff OBE, the Owner and renowned diamantaire of Delaire Graff Estate.
The menu promises a symphony of contemporary cuisine, infused with the creative brilliance and exuberance that defines Head Chef, Virgil Kahn. Each dish is a masterpiece crafted to be savoured and shared, elevating the spirit of Japanese culture and traditions.
Signature dishes will include togarashi, robata eggplant and fermented chilli soy; soft shell crab and doubanjiang aioli; and the exquisite ostrich tartare and tamago, while for dessert, sweetie pie, raspberry sorbet and confit blood orange will provide a memorable conclusion to the experience. A separate tasting menu in the style of omakase, which translates to “I leave it up to you,” transporting you to the rich cultural heritage of Japan.
