The three small islands, Gili Trawangan, Gili Air and Gili Meno are a popular destination for tourists looking for a remote island experience. Most local inhabitants live on Trawangan in a township stretching along the east side just inland, which is also where most recent development takes place.
The mountain is located in the Regency of North Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara. It rises to 3726 meters, making it the second highest volcano in Indonesia.
Senggigi is the main tourist strip of the Indonesian island of Lombok, stretched out along several kilometers of the beachfront, just to the north of the capital Mataram.
