San Jose Central Market is a special colorful Latin market. This large covered market hall is packed with small stalls selling everything. From coffee beans to local spices and from cheap clothing to souvenirs. Visitors can eat well locally and wander endlessly between all stalls, but for really nice souvenirs visitors should go to the Mercado Nacional de Artesanías. This market behind the national museum sells local art and handmade souvenirs, of better quality and for a better price than at the San Jose Central Market.
