Batu Caves is situated on a limestone hill in Selangor, Malaysia, and features a network of caves and cave temples. The name of the caves comes from the Malay word for rock and is dedicated to Lord Murugan. The cave complex features three main caves and a series of smaller ones. Each of the main caves includes Hindu paintings and statues. Located outside the cave is a 42,7m tall statue of Lord Murugan, covered in gold paint. A variety of nature, including flora and fauna, can be found at the caves, from vascular plants to long-tailed macaques and fruit bats, to name a few.
