Sossusvlei lodge, shaded by camelthorn trees, is a testament to the ingenuity of a truly eco-friendly design as it crouches almost unnoticed in a vast ocean of sand. Adobe walls are shaded by canvas roofs, almost Berber-like in their shading of the cool slate floors within. With glorious purple mountains in the distance, and a passing parade of springbok, oryx, and Cape fox, it is surely one of the most unique settings in Africa. Dinners in the desert are unforgettable. You enjoy delicious Namibian cuisine seated in the open-air dining terrace with the desert floor stretching away to meet a starlit sky. The lodge has 45 en suite rooms each with its own private patio. Facilities include a terrace overlooking a floodlit waterhole, swimming pool, curio shop and bar. A variety of adventures can be planned from the lodge including 4x4 excursions to the dunes and hot air ballooning.
