Located in the town of Heiligenstadt, Mayer am Pfarrplatz is a traditional winery that dates back to 1683 and is famed as the former home of celebrated composer Ludwig van Beethoven, where he worked on his most famous creation, Symphony No. 9. Beethoven's former home on the first floor is housed in a romantic semi-detached house at the winery and commemorates him to this day. After viewing the composer's former abode, visitors can enjoy typical Viennese delicacies and an extensive hot and cold buffet with homemade seasonal specialities and a glass of wine at a terrace under grapevines and walnut trees while Viennese Heuriger music plays.
