A maze of sparkling lagoons, meandering channels and overgrown islands teeming with wildlife,

Nxabega Okavango Tented Camp lies in a private Okavango Delta concession on the western border of Chief's Island and the Moremi Game Reserve. Nxabega has been beautifully hand crafted and designed so that its open-plan dining room, lounge, wildlife library, and expansive sundecks all offer unobstructed views over the beautiful and seemingly endless floodplains of the Okavango Delta. There's an attractive swimming pool for cooling off during the warm Botswana days with sun loungers and drinks at the ready as well as expansive decks on two sides and plenty of comfortable places to sit inside and out.

Situated under dense stands of African ebony and strangler fig Trees, Nxabega Tented Camp accommodates 18 guests in the classically elegant and luxurious safari tents on elevated wooden platforms with private game-viewing decks. Beautiful details such as burnished teak floors, huge wooden bowls full of chillies and a solitaire game made from local vegetable ivory pods add a signature style to Nxabega.

You have a choice of daily game activities in Nxabega's 8,000ha private concession including meandering along the floodplains and channels by mokoro (usually in season from June to September) or tracking big game on foot or by open 4x4-safari vehicle. Nxabega means 'place of the giraffe' and these are just one of the many species found in this area such as elephant, lion, leopard, zebra, semi-aquatic lechwe, sitatunga and hippos. 343 bird species have been recorded at Nxabega with plenty of wetland species such as the African Jacana, openbilled stork and malachite kingfisher. You may even be able to spot the rare Pel's fishing owl whilst on a mokoro or boat cruise.
