Located in central Guyana’s Potaro-Siparuni region, Kaieteur National Park is best known as the home of the magnificent Kaieteur Falls, a national icon set on the Potaro River. This spectacular waterfall is the largest single drop waterfall in the world. Aside from these incredible falls, there is much to discover and explore in Kaieteur. Stretching over 600 square kilometres, the park's landscape is characterised by flat-topped mountains and thick Amazonian jungle inhabited by an abundance of exotic wildlife such as the Guianan cock-of-the-rock with its impressive orange plumage and the tiny golden frog. Visitors can enjoy the unique biodiversity found in the natural wonders of the Guiana Shield, a massive geological formation traversed by a network of rushing rivers, and blanketed in vast savanna and pristine rainforest.
