Vivekananda Rock Memorial at Kanyakumari is a place of great scenic beauty, historical importance and religious significance. Built-in 1970 in honour of Swami Vivekananda, the rock is a popular tourist attraction and is considered to be holy as well as an architectural wonder. The memorial is made up of two main structures, the Shripada Mandapam and the Vivekananda Mandapam. These structures incorporate different styles of temple architecture from all over India, and both have been built in such a way that the statue of Swami Vivekananda can be seen directly from Sripadam. There is also Dhyana Mandapam, which is a meditation hall where visitors are welcome to meditate.
