Founded in the Hemel-en-Aarde Valley in 2004, Ataraxia fast established itself as a wine farm to watch. The focus here is on quality rather than quantity, with just three wines currently in the estate’s range – an unwooded Sauvignon Blanc, a wooded Chardonnay and a red blend called Serenity – with a fourth (Pinot noir) in the pipeline. Ataraxia is open Monday to Friday 9am to 4pm; Saturdays 10am to 5pm; they are closed on Sundays.
