The Parrot Clay Lick is clay located on the river banks, where up to 11 species of parrots, parakeets and macaws come on a daily basis to lick the clay. The clay contains antidotes to toxic berries and fruits the birds eat on a daily basis. Other animals also visit the clay wall, but less frequently. The different species, sounds and colors make for a true spectacle that should not be missed when visiting the Yasuni National Park.
