Nestled at the foot of Dumgoyne Hill near Loch Lomond, the Glengoyne Distillery was founded and has been in operation since 1833. The distillery is unique in that it produces Highland single malt whisky which is then matured in the Lowlands. The distillery boasts picturesque woodlands and undulations which cover the surrounding area and is a popular attraction for both malt lovers and nature lovers alike. The distillery is open daily year-round and offers guided tours of how the whisky is made from conception to maturation. Visitors are welcomed to the tour with a dram of 12-year-old Glengoyne, and the tour is rounded off with a whisky tasting. Operating hours are 10:00 to 17:00.
