Xugana Island Lodge is set in the heart of the Okavango Delta’s most breathtaking permanent water site, the Xugana Lagoon—a vast, lily-dotted expanse framed by papyrus reeds. Here, primely positioned on a private concession, the lodge immediately impresses with its Overwater Fire-Deck, extending from the main lodge onto the lagoon. Following a stunning recent rebuild, these values remain unwavering, reflected in a design that echoes the splendour of this incredible ecosystem now more than ever. The lagoon and its wildlife are central, and views are on full display from the pool and bar to the multi-level dining, lounge and viewing decks that comprise the main areas. En-suite Luxury Tents and a two-bedroom Luxury Family Tent line the island’s edge. Each tent draws inspiration from the lagoon’s blue hues and natural textiles, and views are both expansive and immersive, thanks to unique enclosed decks that create an indoor-outdoor experience. The lodge’s sense of wonder meets adventure with activities that include motorboat safaris, fishing, mokoro (traditional canoe) excursions, guided walking safaris, and world-class birdwatching.
Xugana Island Lodge preserves privacy by hosting only 22 guests, enhanced with spacious, lagoon-facing Luxury Tents that each feature en-suite bathrooms, outdoor showers, wardrobes, writing desks and enclosed viewing decks with plush loungers that can be used for "sleeping-out".
There are 10 standard Luxury Tents (accommodating two people; king/twin configuration, depending on preference). Plus, there is a single two-bedroom Luxury Family Tent (accommodating four people; king/twin configuration, depending on preference). Both Luxury Family Tents rooms are en suite. The rooms are connected by an enclosed passage.
The lodge’s true symbiosis with its surroundings not only delivers a standout design but absolute tranquillity. All tents are generously spaced and are set within the island’s lush greenery.

The flights are operated with the utmost respect and caution for the natural environment, the wildlife and travellers. Routes have been carefully marked out ensuring guests on other activities and in camp are not disturbed. The flight routes and take off areas are designed specifically to make use of pristine areas within the concession.

Dining is divine thanks to covered and al fresco locations in the main area and along the multi-level decks that overlook the lagoon. Meals are enjoyed in a communal setting, with a mix of plated and buffet-style service. Meals include morning nibbles before activities, breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and three-course dinners. The rondavel bar is fully stocked, with poolside drinks service also available. *Private dining is available on request, with various locations, including the charming boat jetty and the Overwater Fire-Deck.
