andBeyond Lake Manyara Tree Lodge comprises ten spacious ‘tree house’ suites raised on low stilts which blend seamlessly into the natural beauty pretty Lake Manyara National Park in northern Tanzania. Each suite combines intimacy with romance, with a generous lounging area on the deck, earthy contemporary décor, outdoor shower, and freestanding bath indoors. Massive windows open up to the lush forest below so that you can enjoy a relaxing bath whilst gazing over the sea of green.

Woodchip paths lead to the main building with its split level sitting and dining areas all under high thatched roofs which creates a sense of space. Warm wood interiors, neutral colours and comfy sofas offer intimacy and comfort. Dinner each night at andBeyond Lake Manyara is prepared and served in the open dining boma. A lakeside sala is also used for dinners, picnic lunches and sundowners and there’s a refreshing pool which provides a cool oasis during the heat of an African day.

One of the advantages of Lake Manyara Tree Lodge is that its remote and private location ensures near exclusivity of game drives in the southern part of Lake Manyara Park – a big plus in Tanzania. Lake Manyara is famous for its tree-climbing lions, large herds of elephants and of course its pink flamingos. Lake Manyara has over 380 species of birds which make this park a mecca for keen birders. Another attraction is the variety of habitats nearby from wetlands, floodplain to groundwater forest, all framed by the magnificent backdrop of the towering Great Rift Valley escarpment.

At Lake Manyara Tree Lodge, as well as morning and evening game drives with experienced rangers, you can also learn about the history of the park and enjoy guided nature and birding walks in the forest escorted by Maasai askaris (at a small additional cost). Night drives are also on offer but both night drives and bush walks need to be pre-booked as they need to be agreed with the park authorities.
