Salta’s Museo de Arqueología de Alta Montaña documents the history of the Incan culture through the ages, through a series of high-tech displays and both temporary and permanent exhibitions of ancient artefacts, religious items, crafts and textiles. MAAM’s key exhibit revolves around one of the most important archaeological discoveries related to the Incas – three children who were buried as a human sacrifice 500 years ago, along with a treasure trove of grave goods.
