There is a fig tree at the heart of this valley that the Maasai have known for generations. Split in two by lightning in the 1950s, its unusual silhouette stands as a quiet testament to nature's resilience and it is under this very tree that Saruni Leopard Hill makes its home.
Nestled in the secluded folds of Mara Naboisho Conservancy, our six-tent camp sits at the meeting point of wilderness and wonder. Three waterholes lie close by, drawing elephant, buffalo, and big cats throughout the day a living theatre viewed from your own private terrace.
Here, mornings begin with coffee in hand as the savannah wakes around you. The sky shifts through shades of amber and rose, the air fills with birdsong and distant calls, and you remember why you came.
Naboisho is one of the best-managed conservancies in the Maasai Mara ecosystem; fewer vehicles, more wildlife, and the kind of stillness that lets you truly arrive. Contemporary in design yet rooted in the land, it offers the rare combination of high comfort and raw nature, without one diminishing the other.
This is not just a place to stay. It is a place to belong, however briefly, to something much larger than yourself.
Some places seem made for two. Poised above the vast openness of Mara Naboisho Conservancy, our Honeymoon Tent occupies one of the most coveted positions in camp, looking out directly over the waterholes, where wildlife arrives throughout the day in quiet, unhurried procession.
Elevated on wooden platforms and designed where contemporary comfort meets the spirit of the land, every detail here speaks of intimacy.
Then comes the night. A touch of a button, and the ceiling parts, leaving nothing between you and the African sky but the faintest veil of mosquito net. The stars take over. The conservancy breathes around you. And the world, for a while, shrinks beautifully to just this.
Let me know if you'd like a softer or more understated tone, or a version with a gentle nod to the wider Saruni Leopard Hill experience.

Some moments are best shared. Perched in a prime position above the sweeping landscape of Mara Naboisho Conservancy, our Family Tent is designed for those who want to experience the wilderness together.
Elevated on wooden platforms, the tent unfolds across two private wings, each with its own bedroom, bathroom, and verandah. Space to be together. Space to be apart. The rhythm of a family holiday, honoured.
And when night falls, the real wonder begins. At the touch of a button, the ceiling opens and suddenly a view of the full breadth of the African sky. Fall asleep counting stars while the conservancy hums quietly below.
Contemporary in design yet rooted in the textures and traditions of the land, this is a place where younger guests discover a world beyond the ordinary, and where families find themselves drawn a little closer by everything they witness together.
What truly sets Saruni Leopard Hill apart is written in the stars. Each of our four double tents features a motorised roof that opens at the touch of a button, dissolving the boundary between shelter and sky. Lie back on your Star Bed and let the Southern Cross and the Milky Way fill your world as the sounds of the conservancy drift in around you.
By day, the same tent frames an almost 360-degree story. From your bed, the ancient Double Fig Tree and the nearby waterholes unfold before you, a quiet, ever-changing tableau of wildlife going about their lives. Turn towards the bathroom and the wilderness continues, uninterrupted.
Each tent carries its own personality and theme, with both indoor and outdoor showers, and a private outdoor fireplace on a generous terrace where the evening air belongs entirely to you.
Beyond your tent, Mara Naboisho Conservancy, one of the finest-managed conservancies in the Maasai Mara ecosystem, where game drives, walking safaris, and night drives offer encounters with wildlife on their own unhurried terms awaits.

Our game drives are usually conducted in the early mornings, late afternoon or at night since these are the coolest times of the day when most animals are more active. During the game drive, our knowledgeable Maasai guides will introduce you to life in the savanna and share their infinite knowledge about African wildlife.
Walk across the savannah with the Maasai who have been doing it for generations. Learn the Maasai's basic survival skills. Track and identify animal footprints and dung as you follow the path taken by elephants, wildebeest and lions. Listen to the secrets of the Savannah and let the gentle winds urge you forward. Experience the wilderness on foot and come close to nature as you walk the vast Masai Mara plains.
A bush dining experience is quite exciting whether it is by the river’s edge where the hippos are grunting or on the plains with unlimited views of the big game. Our staff carefully serve guests with freshly prepared gourmet food prepared by the executive chef using fresh local produce with international influences accompanied by fine wines. To make it an unforgettable African dining experience, a group of local Maasai men and women sing and dance providing background entertainment that blends with the sounds of the untamed bush.
Just as you wind up your afternoon game drive, your guide will set up for a sundowner drink. Enjoy a selection of drinks, cocktails and delicious biting usually served against the unforgettable backdrop of the African sunset. Most sundowner spots also offer amazing opportunities for a photographic session.
If you prefer a bit more relaxation and pampering, then the peaceful and serene bush environment at Leopard Hill makes for a deeply memorable massage experience. We offer a range of massage options that are specially designed to relax, refresh and rejuvenate your body administered by a professional therapist in the privacy of your tented room or on your private deck with beautiful views over the conservancy.
Nothing beats the feeling of taking some time out for oneself and breathing in Africa’s pure air while stretching those muscles. Yoga is the perfect activity to add to a safari adventure. Yoga will be conducted as a self-practice, therefore, with no yoga teacher present. The yoga sessions will take place within the privacy of your tent terrace.
Leopard Hill has a spacious dining area where you enjoy your breakfast, lunch or dinner prepared by our well-trained chefs as you enjoy the vastness of the African wilderness. All meals are included in the camp price.
