Located in Andasibe, Vakona Private Reserve offers visitors a spectacular experience. The reserve is home to a variety of lemurs and birds, as well as the cat-like fossa and crocodiles.  The private reserve is divided into 2 zoos:

• Crocodile zoo: full of crocodiles in a fenced park. Birds, reptiles and fossa (Malagasy fox) are in aviary or cages
• Lemur Island zoo: The lemurs are in a small island reserve making a natural fence (Lemurs are afraid of water). They are fed by the Vakona and you can go very close to them and even touch them for a photo
• Night Walks: You can also book a night walk inside the Vakona Forest to spot frogs, insects and nocturnal lemurs.
• Other activities: If you stay longer, other activities are available in the rest of the reserve including canoeing and horseback riding through the beautiful lush green forest surrounding the Vakona Lodge.
