By 2009 this Island was home to 3000 pairs of Magellanic penguins, 155 pairs of rock cormorants and 16 pairs of Gentoo penguins.

These numbers rise annually, and one can choose between a catamaran trip to view these birds from a distance or taking a guided walk among the penguins, which are said to remain aloof to visitors to their natural habitat.
