The expedition departs from the End of the World train station and reaches the National Park, where we’ll visit Ensenada Bay with its stunning view of the Andes - and where the southernmost post office in the world is located! We’ll continue on toward Lake Roca, surrounded by lush forests and mountains, before hiking the trails around Lapataia Bay. Then, we will discover and observe local flora and fauna as we sail along the Beagle Channel on our exclusive ship, the Akawaia, toward Ushuaia Bay. The duration of the hike itself is around an hour and a half each way, with a 200-meter incline.
Tierra del Fuego National Park is located 12 kilometers from Ushuaia; it’s where the subantarctic forest, the Beagle Channel, and the Andes mountain range come together.
National Highway No. 3 allows us to cover the 21 kilometers that separate us from the park’s entrance to the famous Lapataia Bay that attracts visitors from all over the world, not only for its beauty but also as the end of the Pan-American Highway, which begins all the way up in Alaska. The winding roads offer infinite End of the World views with myriad colors, lakes, and mountains.

We’ll get an early start to appreciate the area’s most spectacular species in their natural habitats, such as the Andean condor, the Magellanic woodpecker, the Fuegian steamer duck, and the great grebe.
Fuegian Cuisine Cooking Demonstration
This is a class where the chefs will share their recipes and secrets to Fuegian cuisine’s most characteristic ingredients: locally-caught centolla (king crab) from the Beagle Channel and merluza negra (Patagonian toothfish) caught fresh from the icy southern Atlantic Ocean. After the class, we’ll taste everything during a dinner at the hotel’s Reinamora restaurant.
