Widely regarded as Africa’s premier game reserve, Sabi Sands is known for its abundance of wildlife (particularly leopards) and is the best place to see the Big Five in South Africa. The 65,000 hectares (160,618 acres) of private reserve shares an unfenced boundary with the enormous Kruger National Park, allowing an authentic, wildlife experience where animals roam free. The reserve consists of the iconic savannah bushveld and is flanked by the Sabie and Sand rivers. The oldest of all the private reserves, the wildlife here is habituated to vehicles, allowing for fantastic, up-close viewing. One can even track leopards or wild dogs as they hunt.
