Located on the western shores of Santiago Island, in a harbor called James Bay, the visitor site at Puerto Egas offers two distinct trails. A different path takes you along the rocky coast to grottoes, where fur seals abound. In either case, the experience is one of a kind! Puerto Egas was voted as one of the Galapagos‘ best shoreline experiences. The trail combines layers of tuff stone (volcanic ash mixed with seawater produces sedimentary rock) and pahoehoe lava.
