Early morning and afternoon/evening game drives are offered every day at Feline Fields Vintage Camp and give you the opportunity to explore the region around the camp and along the Khwai River, one of the most prolific wildlife regions in Botswana. This area is renowned for its high concentrations of predators like lion and leopard, huge herds of elephant and buffalo.
Walking safaris in Botswana are completely different to game drives. It’s a great way to appreciate the smaller wildlife, which can’t be so easily seen from a vehicle, as well as to experience the buzz of being out with the big game.
Exploring on foot gives you the chance to properly immerse yourself in the wilderness, connecting you directly to the planet beneath your feet and the environment around you. Our guided walks are all about appreciating the smaller things so often overlooked on game drives - the plants and animals that otherwise go unnoticed. You learn as you go, and are often treated to sightings of iconic wildlife species along the way.
A Mokoro ride in the Delta is an absolute "must-do" activity among guests who travel to Botswana. Some people describe a mokoro trip as one of the most peaceful experiences they have had. It is an opportunity to fully experience the sounds and sights of nature without running the risk of scaring off animals with a motor. It is a highly recommended expedition for photographers.
Gliding through the perennial channels of the Okavango Delta in a mokoro - a traditional "dug-out" canoe - has to be one of the highlights of a visit to Feline Fields Vintage Camp. Water levels are consistent all year round and not dependent on the annual inundation, this is a wonderful way to see hippos, elephants and buffalos and phenomenal bird life.
Fishing the Khwai River and its channels and lagoons is a wonderful way to spend a morning or afternoon. You can expect to catch bream, barbel and even tiger fish, all on a catch and release basis. We have rods and fishing tackle available, and our guides are on hand to show you the ropes!
We offer boat-based activities when the water levels allow, cruising the deeper waters of the Khwai River and its channels and lagoons, stopping on islands for refreshments and birding/fishing as we go.
Taking to the skies over the Okavango Delta in a helicopter gives you a fresh appreciation of the magnitude of this phenomenal African wilderness. Flying low enough to spot game and take photographs from the air, these flights also give you the opportunity to see areas that are otherwise completely inaccessible.
Your private chef prepares you daily brunch after game drives , hight tea with fresh pastries , and a
