The Ethnographic Museum is situated on the main campus of Addis Ababa University and is the first university museum in Ethiopia. The museum seeks to create awareness of the country's abundant cultural resources. The hall is home to two sections of exhibitions, the 1st exhibition deals with the life cycle and the rites of passage, and the 2nd part deals with the wealth of diverse material cultures and its impact on ways of life. The museum also contains manuscript treasures that showcase the history of currency in Ethiopia.
