The remote Twin Falls Gorge with its two beautiful waterfalls that plunge a breathtaking 220m into a crystal clear pool below is one of the iconic attractions in the Kakadu National Park. The gorge can only be accessed with a 4WD vehicle which can be left at the parking area near the gorge. A short walk from the parking area will take visitors to a boat shuttle that operates from the gorge and takes visitors on a guided tour to the falls which are otherwise inaccessible. Unfortunately, the inviting waters of the gorge and the plunge pool are not safe for swimming as it is a known breeding and living area of estuarine crocodiles.
