Lake Volta, located in Ghana, is one of the world’s largest artificial lakes, formed by the Akosombo Dam. Visitors can take boat trips from Akosombo, cruise towards Dodi Island, observe fishing communities and green hills, watch birds, and enjoy a quiet sunset on the water. The lake covers a vast area of about 8,502 square kilometres and stretches hundreds of kilometres across the country, playing an important role in fishing, transport, and electricity generation.
