Jamestown is situated east of Korle Lagoon and is one of the oldest districts in the city of Accra, Ghana. The town originally appeared around the 17th-century, uniting with Accra as it grew. Jamestown features dishevelled colonial buildings, clapboard houses and corrugated iron shacks. Visitors may climb to the top of the whitewashed lighthouse to get a breathtaking view of the city and its beautiful fishing harbour. Jamestown is a tourist attraction and the annual site of the Chale Wote Street Art Festival which brings people together from all over the world.
