Swartberg Mountains is a mountain range in Western Cape, South Africa. Swartberg can be translated from Afrikaans to mean black mountains. The range is comprised of two different mountains, Klein Swartberge and Groot Swartberge. The majority of the area that makes up this range is over 2000 metres tall, making it the tallest mountain range in the Western Cape area. The most popular area within the range is just above the town of Oudtshoorn, where visitors can marvel at the popular tourist attraction, the Cango Caves. There are many different passes and routes throughout the Swartberg Mountains, and a large range of tours can be found for visitors to fully experience this UNESCO World Heritage Site.
