Located in central Thailand, an approximate 56 km away from Bangkok, the town of Nakhon Pathom is home to the only Bhikkhuni, female monastic, temple in the country. One of the most important landmarks in the city is the giant Phra Pathom Chedi, an ancient religious structure that signified the influx of Buddhism into Thailand. The town is also renowned for its cuisine and abundant fruit orchards.
