Koh Chen Island is surrounded by the waters of the Tonle Sap Lake, approximately 35 kilometres from Phnom Penh. The island is known for its silver products and craftsmen, and the village is a hive of activity as bronze, copper and silver is processed into objects such as bowls and trays, and the women decorate the items by engraving intricate etchings of trees, flowers or animals. Visitors can walk around the village, interact with the villagers, visit the rustic school or explore the lush green beauty of the island.
