Located in northern Ecuador, Mojanda is an inactive stratovolcano. Mojada's activity came to a halt over 200,000 years ago by the explosive Plinian Eruption. The area is now divided into three crater lakes of which Karikucha is the largest, Yanakucha, and Warmikucha. Two volcanoes were once simultaneously active in the area and the vents are around 3km apart from each other. The other volcano, Fuya Fuya, is said to have undergone two Plinian Eruptions and collapsed 165,000 years ago.
