The Chobe National Park in Botswana is only a 1¾-hour drive from Livingstone. It counts among one of the greatest game reserves in southern Africa and is famous for its vast elephant population. The Chobe River flows lazily through the Caprivi flood plains and provides a haven for huge herds of buffalo and elephant, zebra, wildebeest and impala. Predators include lion, hyena, the elusive leopard and the odd pack of the now-rare wild dog. The bird life in particular is exceptional.

This excursion includes an exciting boat crossing of the Zambezi River at the point where 4 countries meet - Zambia, Zimbabwe, Botswana and Namibia. The safari starts with a morning game viewing cruise on the Chobe River, complete with on-board refreshments. Large flocks of birds, big pods of hippos and enormous crocodiles abound. After disembarking, lunch is served at the Chobe Safari Lodge, which overlooks the Chobe River and the plains beyond. In the afternoon, open safari vehicles are used for a game drive into the national park. The drive makes its way back to customs and immigration, before crossing the Zambezi River and returning to your hotel.

The Chobe day trip begins at 07:30 with drop-off at your hotel by approximately 18:30.
