The Lions Head in Cape Town is the characteristically shaped mountain right next to Table Mountain. Like a proud lion, he overlooks the city and Table Bay on one side and the picturesque Atlantic coast on the other. You can enjoy spectacular views from the top of Lion's Head and take beautiful photos of Cape Peninsula and Robben Island. There are two route options to hiking Lions Head - the lesser-known and easier spiral route or the more adventurous - up the Lion’s Head Chains. The steep ascent to the top of the mountain is rewarded with picturesque views and a unique view of Cape Town and Table Mountain. Whether you hike at sunrise or sunset ensure you have enough water, sunscreen and warmer clothing for after sunset. While in Cape Town during a full moon, hike Lion's Head between 19h00-22h00 to make the most of this special experience.
