Located in the old town of Cairo, Ben Ezra Synagogue was a religious place of worship. Its grandiose architecture is a combination of Islamic, Christian and Jewish influence. The synagogue building is traditionally believed to be standing in the place where the Hebrew infant Moses was spotted. It is also the place where the original Cairo Genzia manuscripts were discovered. A visit to the synagogue gives tourists an insight into the history and religious practices of Jews from a bygone era.
