Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park is a huge park that measures over 120,000 square metres. The memorial park features trees, lawns, as well as walking paths, contrasting to the surrounding downtown area. On the fourth anniversary of the tragedy, the area was dedicated to peace memorial facilities, and become the Peace Park. Visitors to the area can see the A-Bomb Dome, which was one of the few buildings to remain standing after the explosion, and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
