Lower Saxon Wadden Sea National Park is situated in northern Germany, close to the order of the Netherlands. Established in 1986, the park encompasses the East Frisian Islands, salt marshes, beaches and dunes, estuaries and mudflats between Outer Elbe and the Bay of Dollart. Various birds, including waders, ducks, geese and gulls, use the park as their resting place. Beachgrass, sea holly and sea lavender grow throughout the area.
