Your stay at Grootbos includes a vast variety of activities, one of the highlights being the botanical nature drive. The 900 recorded plant species in our 2500 hectares of pristine wilderness will bring the fascinating story of fynbos and forest to life as you touch, smell and see the natural miracles that surround you. Learn how a sunbird’s beak fits perfectly into a flower, why the honey their bees produce is unique and how important ravaging fires are for bringing forth new life. Furthermore, a selection of the following activities are included: Horse riding for non- and experienced riders through the reserve, guided Walks including fynbos nature tours and Milkwood walks, marine & coastal drives and walks including the Walker Bay Nature Reserve, De Kelders cliff walk, Klipgat Cave combined with seasonal land-based whale watching (whale watching especially during July – December).
