Tintoreras Islet is a famous tourist site on Isabela Island, located just 10 minutes by boat from Puerto Villamil. It´s a small and very rocky island with many sea lions, marine iguanas and birds that stay on the rocks to rest.

The name of this island originates from an enormous lava crack where the white-tipped reef sharks rest inside the channel - the Spanish name for these sharks is ¨tintoreras¨.

This tour starts with a guided hike over the island to explore the lava rocks, the channel and mangroves. After the land visit, there is time for snorkelling un the un-deep bay with great chances of seeing marine turtles, sea stars, rays, reef sharks, puffer fish and other tropical multicoloured fish.
