Situated in Oxford, the Bodleian Libray is one of the oldest libraries in Europe and the main research library of the University of Oxford. Founded in 1602 by Sir Thomas Bodley, the library is one of 5 legal deposit libraries, which today holds more than 12 million printed items, and outstanding special collections including maps, music, art, and rare books and manuscripts. Many generations of famous scholars have studied in this library, including 5 kings, 26 prime ministers, and 40 Nobel Prize winners.
