The Blue Hole is a renowned diving site about a thirty-minute drive north of Dahab. It has been called the “World’s Most Dangerous Dive Site” and “Diver’s Cemetery” because of the many accidents that have occurred there. These usually happen when divers try to access the tunnel through the reef or “Arch”, where the water can measure up to 52 metres deep. The safest, easiest way to access the hole is signposted. When exploring the hole, colourful coral and reef fish are vivid streaks of colour against the azure water.
