Situated on remote Nxaragha Island in the heart of the permanent Okavango Delta, Camp Okavango assures a year-round water wilderness experience. Shameless luxury blends with the Africa of old in the elegant thatch and lethaka (reeded) main building, which houses a bar, lounge and dining room. The expansive open-air patio caters for alfresco meals and evenings around a blazing fire. East African style tents are on raised teak platforms with en suite facilities and private sundeck. Each is attractively furnished with teak furniture, colouful woven rugs and crisp linen.
Explore the Okavango by canoe and boat on wildlife and birdwatching expeditions. Guide nature walks on the islands allow you to track some of the larger species that inhabit this watery paradise. The elusive Sitatunga antelope can be sited here as well birds such as the African Fish eagle, Pel's Fishing owl amongst others.

The camp features eleven Safari Suites, each perched on raised wooden platforms and set within lush Delta vegetation. En suite bathrooms are spacious, with a double vanity, double shower, and a separate water closet—with a view! Desert & Delta’s partners at Helicopter Horizons will remove the doors providing uninterrupted views and close up angles of the majestic Delta and its wildlife. A scenic flight is not just a must for keen photographers but an exciting opportunity to witness this remarkable network of land and water from above.
The flights are operated with the utmost respect and caution for the natural environment, the wildlife and travellers. Routes have been carefully marked out ensuring guests on other activities and in camp are not disturbed. The flight routes and take off areas are designed specifically to make use of pristine areas within the concession.

In-Camp
Camp Okavango’s main area comprises of a network of interconnected walkways linking up two lounge areas, a dining room, library, self-service bar and curio shop. Sweeping ramps lead to the lower level deck with two open-air fire pits and comfortable seating areas to relax and take in the natural surroundings with a drink in hand. Guests are encouraged to connect and share over delicious meals in the al fresco dining area, the main in-camp dining arrangement. Additionally, private dining experiences (set up in-room or along the lantern-lit walkways) can be arranged on special request.
