Ideal for the outdoorsman, Bow Falls is a stunning waterfall on the junction of Bow and Spray Rivers in Alberta. The Waterfalls see a large number of tourists annually thanks to its proximity to the town of Banff and the Banff Springs Hotel.
Bow Falls are within Banff National Park, with a viewing area at the base of the falls in the shape of a large cement-rock promenade walkway. There are some viewing benches at the end of the promenade, with a small sandy beach where tour operators offer rafting, kayaking and sightseeing tours. The area also offers some hiking trails that pedestrians and cyclists can explore, from the south of the Bow River all the way to above the Bow Falls. Thanks to its popularity, visitors should be prepared for crowds.
