As Tanzania's largest national park, Nyerere National Park offers a genuinely expansive wilderness experience. Named after Mwalimu Julius Kambarage Nyerere, the nation's founder, the park covers an area of over 30,893 km2 and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is home to a multitude of diverse wildlife, including elephant, buffalo, lion, hippo, rhino, and African wild dog.
