Piazza San Marco, also known as St Mark's Square and the cultural and political heart of the city is located in Venice, Italy. Popular buildings inside the square are St Mark’s Basilica, the Doge’s Palace, the Museo Correr and the Campanile (the Basilica’s bell tower) and the Torre dell’ Orologio. Visitors are prohibited from eating or drinking inside this square. Visitors are also not allowed to throw rubbish or give pigeons food. Piazza San Marco comes to life when the sunsets.
