Maya Bay is a cliff sheltered bay located along Phi Phi Le's coastline in Thailand. The spectacular bay boasts many small beaches, some of which are only accessible at low tide. The ocean is exceptionally clear and is home to many exotic fish and colourful coral. The bay became an increasingly popular tourist attraction after the movie The Beach was filmed there in 1999. Tourists visiting Maya Bay are able to sunbathe on the sandy beach, snorkel around the coral or take a refreshing dip in the crystal clear water.
