Railay Beach West is one of Thailand’s most scenically spectacular destinations, with jagged limestone karsts towering over turquoise bays, and palm-fringed sand beaches melting into sense rainforests. It’s known as one of Thailand’s finest rock-climbing destinations, with the rugged ocean overhangs offering routes for climbers of all abilities, from amateur to advanced. It is accessible only by boat, due to the massive rocky outcrops that cut it off from the mainland and as a result, has retained an idyllic environment and relaxed atmosphere that distinguish it from the bustling mainland centres of Krabi and Ao Nang. The peninsula is divided into four parts: Tonsai, Pranang Railay Beach East and Railay Beach West, with the latter considered the most upmarket and featuring an array of five-star accommodation.
